Summary: | The automatic matching of images representing the same scene, but acquired under conditions such that the subject has moved, is done by automatically selecting a homogeneous population of markers and by calculating the displacement vectors associated with these markers. It is shown that, in order to select the markers, it is advantageous to characterise the image by a certain number of characteristic magnitudes, representing the robustness of these markers. The robustness of the markers is the ability of a marker to be the site of an exact displacement measurement in respect of a required accuracy. |
