Summary: | A device for journaling the shaft (1) of a top-mounted agitator, comprising a bearing housing (5) for mounting on an agitator stand and a bearing (31) mounted between the shaft and the bearing housing. The bearing is mounted on a shaft sleeve (9) fastened to the shaft. The sleeve is implemented such that when dismantled, the bearing can be removed therefrom by moving it upwards along the sleeve. The sleeve is provided below the bearing with abutment means (22) arranged for co-action with complementary abutment means (23) in the bearing housing, so that the shaft sleeve, and thereby the shaft, can be carried in the bearing housing when the bearing is removed from the shaft sleeve or in connection with a bearing failure which could allow the shaft to go down. |
