Summary: | A facsimile apparatus (2) is connected to another (5) through a communication network (NW1) that may include a network of relative good transmission quality (e.g. a conventional wire network) (NW1A) and a network of relatively bad quality (e.g. a mobile 'phone network) (NW1B). If the selected transmission path is of good quality, transmission is carried out in a conventional manner. However, in the event that the transmission path is of relatively bad quality, an adaptive type error control means is utilised for error correction in response to the quality of the transmission path. |
