Summary: | A process for the recovery of guanidine hydrohalides from product mixtures, which essentially consist of guanidine hydrohalide, ammonium halide, thiourea and silane compounds, from the preparation of mercaptoalkylsilanes is described, in which the organic impurities are extracted from the product mixture using an aliphatic ketone having up to 7 carbon atoms and the extract is separated off from the residue, for example by filtration. In this manner, the guanidine hydrohalide can be recovered in very high purity. Moreover, the organic impurities are obtained in such a form that they enable utilisation or removal without problems. |
