Die Dichte sprühgetrockneter Waschmittel wird ohne Anwendung flüssiger Granulierhilfsmittel dadurch erhöht, daß man das Pulver, das ein Schüttgewicht von wenigstens 350 g/l aufweist, kontinuierlich in eine zylindrische, horizontal angeordnete oder leicht gegen die Horizontale geneigte Mischtrommel mit glatter Innenwand einführt, in welcher axial eine Welle rotiert. Die Welle ist mit radial angeordneten Schlagwerkzeugen ausgestattet, deren Länge (gerechnet von der Mittelachse) 80 % bis 98 % des Innenradius der Trommel beträgt. Die Rotationsgeschwindigkeit der Welle wird so reguliert, daß bei einer mittleren Verweilzeit des Pulvers in der Trommel von 10 bis 60 sec und konstantem Pulverdurchsatz die Froude-Zahl zwischen 50 und 1 200 liegt. The density of spray-dried detergents is increased, without using liquid granulating aids, by continuously introducing the powder, which has a bulk density of at least 350 g/l, into a cylindrical mixing drum which has a smooth inner wall and is arranged horizontally or slightly inclined to the horizontal and in which a shaft rotates axially. The shaft is equipped with radially arranged beating implements whose length (calculated from the central axle) is 80 % to 98 % of the internal radius of the drum. The speed of rotation of the shaft is controlled so that the Froude number is between 50 and 1 200 for an average residence time of the powder in the drum of 10 to 60 sec and constant powder throughput.
