Summary: | In a process for isolating cellulose ethers, especially cellulose ethers with plastic properties and/or high flocculation point, from a cellulose ether suspension in which the cellulose ethers are separated out as filter cake by pressure filtration, especially in a rotary pressure filter, the intention is to avoid blockage of the separating device and for the separating device to have a long useful life.
This is achieved by carrying out the isolation in a rotary pressure filter (I) with a multilayer, preferably sintered, metal wire gauze (8) as filter medium, where the wire gauze (8) is formed from gauze layers of different wire thickness and/or mesh width, and by purifying the filter medium after removal of the filter cake with steam, compressed air or water under pressure. |
