Cyclic dipeptide enantiomers

The invention provides novel cyclic dipeptide enantiomers comprising (R)-histidine or a derivative thereof as one of the amino acid residues. These compounds are useful a catalysts for production of (S) - alpha -cyanomethyl alcohols from aldehydes.
