Summary:A mounting bracket assembly (12) particularly suited for installation in an aircraft having outboard turbine engines (E) to isolate the aircraft cabin from engine noises. The bracket assembly (12) includes a base (13) fastened below the wing pylon and a pair of arms (20,21) extending in spaced parallel relation below the base. The forward ends of the arms (20,21) are connected to the engine (E), and the aft ends are interconnected by a torque tube (22) which is resiliently fastened to the mounting bracket base (13) by an elastomeric bearing assembly (26). The elastomeric bearing assembly (26) includes a series of laminations of elastic (27,29,31) and inelastic (28,30) layers which extend along diametrically opposite upper and lower sides of the torque tube (22) to mount the arms (20,21) in resilient cantilever fashion to the base (13). The elastomeric bearing assembly (26) permits the arms (20,21) to rock about a pivot axis (A) through the torque tube (22) while accommodating other motions of the arms, such as vertical translations and relative angular displacements imposed under certain engine operating conditions.
