Summary: | A test device for carrying out a microchemical test, comprises a container for contacting a reaction liquid during performance of said test, said container having deposited on a surface thereof which in use is to contact said reaction liquid, an adherent layer applied in an amount in the range 1 to 40 mg/sq cm comprising a chemically or electrochemically active material which has been deposited in the form of a composition comprising solid particles having a particle size in the range 0.5 to 25, e.g. 1 to 20, microns, together with a polymeric binder. A corresponding printable composition for printing a layer of a chemically or electrochemically active material on to a surface of a substrate to form such a device comprises (a) a chemically or electrochemically active substance to be deposited, dissolved in (b) a (e.g. aqueous) solvent for said substance (a), (c) a polymeric binder or thickener dissolved or dispersed in solvent (b), (c) from 1 to 15 percent by weight of a dispersed finely- divided inert particulate material with a particle size in the range 1 to 50 microns, and has a viscosity in the range 1 to 250 poise at 25 deg.C. |
