Summary: | A diesel engine exhaust particulate trap and regeneration system for trapping and periodically burning the particulates in the engine exhaust. Collected particulates are burned in the trap (32) by increasing the trap temperature by using a back pressure valve (34) in the exhaust gas line (30) . A microprocessor (38), which receives engine operating parameters via various sensors, compares the sensed parameter valves with engine maps stored in its memory and opens or closes the valve (34) via an actuator in response thereto. |
