Summary: | Secondary metallic/oxidic materials are made suitable for feeding to a zinc/lead blast-furnace or other zinc reduction process by an agglomeration technique involving mixing the solid materials with water and a fine-particle-size void-filler, followed by pelletizing or briquetting the mixture, and curing to allow strength to develop, due to exothermic chemical reaction, and reduction of moisture content. Green strength binders in the form of aqueous salt solutions may be added at the mixing stage. |
