Anstrichstoffe, enthaltend als Korrosionsinhibitor eine aliphatische oder cycloaliphatische Di-, Tri- oder Tetracarbonsäure mit einer gruppe der Formel I worin X -O-, -SO- oder -NH- bedeutet und R Wasserstoff, Alkyl, Halogenalkyl, Alkoxy, Alkylthio, Alkylsulfonyl, Cycloalkyl, Phenyl, Alkylphenyl, Phenylalkyl, Halogen, CN, NO2, COOH, COOAlkyl, OH oder eine Amino- oder Carbamoylgruppe bedeutet, oder deren Basen-Addtionssalze, besitzen eine ausgezeichnette Korrosionsschutzwirkung auf metallischen Substraten, insbesondere auf Eisenmetallen. 1. An aqueous corrosion-inhibiting coating composition containing a) an aqueous film-former and b) an the corrosion inhibitor, an effective amount of an aliphatic or cycloaliphatic di-, tri- or tetra-carboxylic acid which is substituted in its aliphatic or cycloaliphatic radical by at least one group of the formula l see diagramm : EP0183647,P9,F1 in which X is sulfur and each R independently of the other is hydrogen, alkyl, halogenoalkyl, alkoxy, alkylthio, alkysulfonyl, cycloalkyl, phenyl, alkylphenyl, phenylalkyl, halogen, -CN, -NO2 , -COOH, -COOalkyl, -OH or a primary, secondary or tertiary amino or carbamoyl group, and also base addition salts of these compounds.
