Summary:A pulse combustor has a casing in which a combustion chamber is defined. Air is supplied to the combustion chamber through an air supply pipe. A valve mechanism for controlling the air supply to the chamber is provided in the air supply pipe. The valve mechanism has a base plate with a plurality of air supply holes for the passage of air, and a flapper valve for opening and closing the air supply holes in accordance with the change of pressure inside the chamber. The flapper valve is composed of a plurality of ring-shaped segments with different diameters. These segments are arranged concentrically with one another.
