Eine Trocknungsanlage für wasserreiche Braunkohlen weist in der Flußrichtung der Kohle hintereinander eine Fördereinrichtung (2) mit einer Einrichtung (3) zum Überbrausen der Kohle mit heißem Abwasser, ein Naßsieb (4) mit einer Einrichtung (5) zum Zuführen von Restdampf, einen Förderer (6) für die Förderung des abgesiebten Materials zu einer Druckschleuse (7), eine Vorwärmeinrichtung (8) mit einer Druckschleuse (7) an der Aufgabestelle und Anschlüssen für Dampfleitungen (11), eine weitere Druckschleuse (13) für den Austrag aus der Vorwärmeinrichtung (8) und die Aufgabe in einen mit Dampf, vorzugsweise Sattdampf, beaufschlagbaren Autoklaven (14), an welchen Abwasserleitungen (12) angeschlossen sind, eine Siebtrommel (15) innerhalb des Autoklaven (14) mit einem regelbaren Drehantrieb (16) und Förderelementen, insbesondere Schneckengängen, eine weitere Druckschleuse (19) für den Austrag des gedämpften Materials in einen Nachtrockner (20), einen Nachtrockner (20) mit einem Anschluß (22) für vorgewärmte Gase, wie Dampf, Luft oder Inertgase, und eine Einrichtung (23) zum Abtransport der Trockenkohle auf.
