Summary:The decorative covering for furniture uses the stems of Palmyra creeper which can be mounted around a core formed by a part of the article of furniture. They can form a complete circle and can be secured by nails without splitting, so as to enclose e.g. a chair leg. They can also be used to cover edges, frames etc. of tables, cupboards, shelves, mirrors, wardrobes, chests etc., as well as chairs. The creeper is a tropical variety and the stems are fibrous, having a constant circular cross section having a diameter between 4 and 8 mm, e.g. 6mm, and without knots. It is hard, flexible and homogeneous, and can be bent around a sharp radius without breaking.
