Summary:1. A process for preparing samples of materials marked with tritium or tritium and **14 C isotopes together, respectively, mainly samples of organic compounds and material samples of biological origin, for the liquid scintillation radioactivity measurement by burning the sample, i.e. oxydatively converting the hydrogen contents of the sample into water and of the carbon contents of it into carbon dioxide, separating the carbon dioxide and the water containing tritium with absorption and transferring the materials containing the given isotopes separated from each other into liquid scintillation solutions, characterized in that one carries out the separation of the carbon dioxide from the water containing tritium in such a way that one feeds the gaseous mixture obtained by the burning of the sample into an absorption device containing cyclohexanol in which one quantitatively binds the water containing tritium or the tritium, respectively, and from it one quantitatively forwards the carbon dioxide, optionally containing the **14 C isotope.
