Summary:This invention relates to the use of an agent capable of binding and thus inhibit formation of a binary Vps10p-domain receptor: TrpV receptor complex, and/or formation of a further ternary Vps10p-domain receptor : TrkA : TrpV receptor complex for the preparation of a medicament for the inhibition of pain and pain signalling through said complex(es). The invention is thus beneficial in the preparation of a medicament for the treatment and/or prevention of neuropathic pain, chronic pain and acute pain. The invention furthermore relates to the identification of such agents and animal models for screening for such agents.
