| Abstract | The mechanism to lock the door of a domestic appliance, and especially a cooking oven, has a ratchet (14) which is pressed by a spring force against a corresponding catch (80) to lock them together. The ratchet is at the appliance housing and the catch is at the appliance door, or vice versa.
