Summary:A mixer unit comprises a mixing trough (2), a mixing unit rotor (8) which can rotate about a vertical axis (10), a primary tool (14) which rotates about a primary rotational axis, and at least one further tool (24). The tools extend into the trough (2) from above. The rotor has a gear mechanism (22) through which primary and secondary tools are coupled so that the rotational speed of the secondary tool is greater than that of the primary tool. The secondary tool rotational speed is pref. 3-20 times that of the primary tool. Use - The arrangement is used as a mixer. Advantage - The mixer is economical to produce and ensures mixing is optimised.
