Fremgangsmåde til opfangning af hydrogensulfid fra gasser ved hjælp af glyoxal

A method is described for trapping hydrogen sulphide from gases, the hydrogen sulphide-containing gas being passed into an aqueous solution of glyoxal, at least 15% strength by weight, at a pH of this solution of 5 to 11 until the molar ratio of glyoxal to hydrogen sulphide is 3 to 2. The solid reac...

Summary:A method is described for trapping hydrogen sulphide from gases, the hydrogen sulphide-containing gas being passed into an aqueous solution of glyoxal, at least 15% strength by weight, at a pH of this solution of 5 to 11 until the molar ratio of glyoxal to hydrogen sulphide is 3 to 2. The solid reaction product obtained as a result, which contains bound hydrogen sulphide, is separated off. As a result of its stability and insolubility in acids and bases, it can be disposed of in landfill without problem.
