Summary:The instrument consists of a body (C2) containing a driven rotor (R2) with supports (SH2,SB2) between the two. The supports have fluid feeds (AF,CA) and at least two air bearings (PH2,PB2) which ensure the dispersion of an interface film in a contact zone between the bearings and rotor. The supports are linked by a connector (ML) which joins them together rigidly, ensures a static and dynamic alignment of the upper and lower bearings and enhances motor drive torque. The connector (ML) can be in the shape of a sleeve made from the same material as the walls of the two supports (SH2,SB2) or a skirt containing the upper bearing and equipped channels (CA) for transferring a fluid from the body to the upper bearing. It also has a radial groove for a shock absorber (JT1) in the form of a toroid seal.
