Summary:546,212. Valve circuits. FARNSWORTH TELEVISION,& RADIO CORPORATION. Feb. 18. 1941, No. 2216. Convention date, April 29, 1940. [Class 40 (v)] In a frequency multiplier the input at frequency /1 is applied to a resonant circuit 16, 17 and thence to the grids 8, 9 of a pair of valves 3. 4 which are biased well beyond cut-off by batteries 14 and 15. The outputs from anodes 12, 13 comprising small parts of alternate half cycles are applied to a resonant circuit 24, 25. Signals of smaller amplitude are taken from tappings 19, 20 and are applied to the grids 6, 7 of a second pair of valves 1, 2 which are biased to cut off by battery 14. The outputs from the anodes 10, 11 comprising alternate half cycles are applied through crossed connections to resonant circuits 24, 25 the resultant current being at a frequency f3 equal to three times fl. The valves 1 ... 4 may comprise two double triodes.
