Summary:This invention relates to welding materials for high-Cr steels which exhibit higher toughness and improved creep characteristics. Specifically, this invention relates to a welding material for high-Cr steels which contains, on a weight percentage basis, 0.03 to 0.12% C, up to 0.3% Si, 0.2 to 1.5% Mn, up to 0.02% P, up to 0.01% S, 8 to 13% Cr, 0.5 to 3% Mo, up to 0.75% Ni, 0.15 to 0.3% V, up to 0.01% Nb, 0.05 to 0.3% Ta, 0.1 to 2.5% W, 0.01 to 0.75% Cu, up to 0.03% Al, 0.002 to 0.005% B, up to 0.015% N, and up to 0.01% O, the balance being Fe and incidental impurities. It also relates to such welding materials wherein W is optionally excluded from the aforesaid composition, wherein W is excluded and 0.1 to 3% Co is added, or wherein 0.1 to 3% Co is added to the aforesaid composition.
