Summary:The apparatus for bending glass sheets (3) includes a furnace (1), a bending chamber (6), and a transport system (20, 21, 22, 23), as well as interacting top and bottom bending moulds. The apparatus is characterised by the fact that the ring-shaped bottom bending mould consists at least of two ring segments (9, 10, 11, 12) which in opposite radial directions can be brought into a position leaving free the space between the conveyor (2) and the top bending mould, and into a working position in which they form a closed bending frame.
