Summary:High purity, crystalline adduct of bisphenol A and phenol is produced multi-stage crystallization of a phenolic slurry of bisphenol A with a crystal separation being interposed between each stage. The purity of the phenol solvent which is used to prepare the solutions for the crystallization stages is controlled so as to increase progressively. The crystalline adduct obtained in the final crystallization stage is washed with purified phenol.
