Summary:A superconducting material consists of an oxide composition of chemical composition TlxPbyBizSr2Ca2Cu3Or or (Tl(1-a-b)BiaPbb)Sr2Ca3Cu4Oc where n = 0.3-0.95; y = 0-0.5; z = 0.05-0.4; (x+y+z) = 1; r is approx. 9; c is an arbitray number. a = 0.05-0.55; b = 0-0.55; (a+b) = 0-0.65. Pref. 0.35 x 0.9; 0 y 0.4; x/z = 4. n = 0.35-0.9; y = 0-0.4; n/z = 4. Starting materials (e.g. oxides or carbonates) are mixed in the appropriate ratio, fired at 850-1000 deg.C, then annealed at 300-900 deg.C for at lesat one hour.
