Summary:Device and method for transferring a sample of fluid from a first chamber (1) to a second chamber (2) separated from the first chamber (1). The process according to the invention is characterised in that the following successive stages are carried out:   - a cavity defined by the ends of two cylindrical coaxial rods (5, 6) having cylindrical walls of the same dimensions is opened,   - the said cavity is closed in the said first chamber (1), the said cavity is transferred from the said first chamber (1) to the said second chamber (2) by an axial translation of the said rods (5, 6) relative to the said chambers, and   - the said cavity is opened in the said second chamber (2).
