Summary:The image of colour material layers (2a, 2b, 2c, 2x) are transferred in accordance with image signals applied by a thermal head to the layers. The colour material layers are applied only in a specific local area of a substrate film (1) corresponding to an area in which the transferred image of the transferred material should be formed. Therefore, the layers do not come into contact with those areas of the transferred material in which the transferred image does not exist. The colour material layers can be saved by disposing them locally. A protective layer which is transferred onto the surface of the image after the heat transfer of the image to the transferred material can be disposed separately on the heat-transfer sheet.
