Summary:A method of manufacturing a composite ceramic and copper superconducting element comprising the steps of (1) directing a submicron sized powder of a superconducting ceramic material over one surface of a piece of copper to coat the surface of the piece of copper with a uniform compact film of the powder, and (2) sintering the powder while passing oxygen over the surface coated with the powder and while maintaining the remaining surfaces of the piece of copper in an inert atmosphere.
