Summary:Disclosed is a glazing unit, in particular for cladding a building façade, comprising at least two panes (2, 3). The invention is characterized by the fact that at least one of the panes is provided with a coating structure (3, 4) on the surface (2') inside the intermediate space (1) between the panes (2, 3); the coating structure in question comprises a reactive layer (3) applied to the pane and a catalyst layer (4) applied to the reactive layer. The catalyst layer activates a reaction in the reactive layer which varies according to the composition of the gas atmosphere (5) between the panes and alters the optical and/or electrical characteristics of the reactive layer (3). The invention is also characterized by the fact that the composition of the gas atmosphere (5) in the intermediate space can be adjusted in order to alter the electrical and/or optical characteristics.
