Summary:The pump incorporates devices to apply a force onto the closure member (49). This acts against the force, which is generated by the valve spring (16) during the intake stroke of the feed piston (3). The devices consist of a friction element (54). This is located between the closure member and a part (51), which does not move with the piston. Alternately, the device may be formed by a flow-impeding body, or an inertia body, either connected to the closure member. he mass of the inertia body is adjusted to the RPM of a motor driving the pump.
