Summary:The measurement device has two mutually relatively movable components linked by a pneumatic spring elastomer bellow (21), one of which (22) carries at least one magnet (25). The other component (23) carries a magnetic field sensor (28) which is enclosed by a magnet arrangement (27) w.r.t. which it is asymmetrically positioned. The magnetic field sensor is placed above the plane (E) of emanation of the field lines of the magnet arrangement. The changes in the magnetic field detected by the magnetic field sensor are converted into a proportional electrical control signal by a processor, which can trigger changes in a pneumatic compressor output to compensate for changes in component separation.
