Summary:The invention relates to a grinding machine with oscillating spindle, having a spindle arranged rotatably in a housing. A projecting end of the spindle is designed to receive a grinding drum. An upper cam disc is rigidly connected to the spindle, and a lower cam disc inside the housing is rotatably connected to the spindle. The upper and lower cam disc have opposite annular cam faces, the contours of which, shaped alternately sinusoidally, exhibiting respective diametrically opposite elevations and depressions. Upper and lower cam discs possess toothed rings which are connected via separate driving belts to a common driving pulley driven by an electric motor. The number of teeth of the toothed rings of the upper and lower cam disc are different, so that upper and lower cam disc rotate relative to one another. The annular cam faces cause the upper cam disc and the spindle to oscillate in the vertical direction owing to the relative movement of upper and lower cam disc.
