Summary:A lift truck comprises a drive carriage 10 and a load carrying carriage 12 which is vertically guided for lifting relative to the drive carriage. The load carrying carriage 12 comprises a load carrying fork 20 or a pair of wheel arms including load wheels 24 supported by pivoting levers 28 and a lifting linkage 34 extending within the fork or wheel arms, the linkage 24 being linked to said pivoting levers 28 and cooperating with an abutment 50 provided on the drive carriage 10. Furthermore the drive carriage 10 comprises a drive wheel for steering and braking as well as a support wheel 16, and the truck further comprises lifting means 74 located between the drive carriage and the load carrying carriage. The support wheel 16 or drive wheel is supported on an arm of a rocker 46 and the other arm of the rocker 46 carries the abutment 50 which is engaged by an end of a reversing lever 40 of the linkage 34 rotatably mounted on the drive carriage 10. Such an arrangement linking the wheels is simple and compact and avoids torsional stresses in the vehicle frame, whilst permitting good traction, steering and braking. Preferably stops 52, 54 limit movement of the rocker 46.
