Summary: | The part-flooded vaporising cooling system for an IC engine has cooling chambers (1a) in the cylinder head and also (2a) in the crankcase. There is a pre-supply from the cylinder head chambers to a condenser and a condensate collector. A return line returns the condensate to the chambers and has a pump mounted to it. Prior to a cold start the fluid is drained from the engine cooling chambers, and then the chambers are re-filled when the component critical temperatures are reached. |
