Summary:In known combing machines, the necessary cycle of movement of the members to be driven is guaranteed by a central drive motor via a multiplicity of gears. The new drive is to reduce the multiplicity of gear trains, reduce the noises and wear and improve the possibility of variation of the ratios of movement of the shafts relative to one another. Consequently, a separation of the shaft drives takes place and mechanical gear trains are replaced by regulated electrical drives. The drives are preceded by a master computer. This electrical drive brings about, in particular, the avoidance of a multiplicity of change wheels for setting different cycles of movement, an improvement in the possibility of variation of the ratios of movement and a minimisation of the working noise of the machine.
