Summary: | The post (1) for supporting lighting, wires etc. is of wood and is solid in its upper section. The lower section (L) has its core (2) bored out, leaving a supporting wall. On impact by a vehicle, the bored-out section breaks comparatively easily compared to its solid equivalent. The post wall thickness can be between 23 to 35 mm, and can preferably be 35 mm.
