Clamping device securing gate-turn-off thyristor between opposing heat sinks - has threaded bolts between heat sinks and spring plate laminates activated in succession to exert pressure on pressure plate
The clamping device holds the gate-turn-off thyristor disc (01) between a pair of heat sinks (02,03) acting simultaneously as the current leads, using a number of threaded clamping bolts passed through the heat sinks (02,03) around the outside of the thyristor disc (01). The heat sinks (02,03) are b...

Summary: | The clamping device holds the gate-turn-off thyristor disc (01) between a pair of heat sinks (02,03) acting simultaneously as the current leads, using a number of threaded clamping bolts passed through the heat sinks (02,03) around the outside of the thyristor disc (01). The heat sinks (02,03) are biased together via a pressure plate (04) and plate spring laminates (07,17) acting directly on one of the heat sinks (03) in a perpendicular direction above the centre of the thyristor disc (01). The plate spring packets (07,17) are activated one after the other, to provide a stepped pressure force, each acting on the pressure plate (04). ADVANTAGE - Provides clamping force of above 20 kN. |
