Summary:A bearing for longitudinal movements has outer surfaces designed as running tracks that extend between both faces (2) of a guiding rail (1). A covering plate (8) is secured to a front face (2) of the guiding rail (1) as a mounting aid for a guiding carriage movable along the running tracks. The covering plate (8) has a base surface adjacent and congruent to the face (2) of the guidng rail (1), as well as peripheral surfaces (5) inclined in relation to the running tracks and other outer surfaces, which form leading-in profiles. This arrangement allows the guiding carriage to be quickly and easily slid onto the guiding rail (1), while avoiding damages to parts of the guiding carriage.
