Electrostatic spray gun with housing and spray nozzle for spraying paint and powder - has holder and supply line for compressed air with gas discharge lamp excited by influence of electrostatic field arranged earthed near housing for detecting field

The spray gun has a photo cell (5), for the optical scanning of the radiation of the gas discharge lamp (4). With the failure of the photo cell, a warning system is electrically activated to give an optical or acoustic warning signal. The gas discharge lamp (4) is fixed at the holder (2) or the hous...

Summary:The spray gun has a photo cell (5), for the optical scanning of the radiation of the gas discharge lamp (4). With the failure of the photo cell, a warning system is electrically activated to give an optical or acoustic warning signal. The gas discharge lamp (4) is fixed at the holder (2) or the housing (1). The gas discharge lamp (4) and the photo cell (5) are assembled, arranged directly close to each other in a unit (6). The electrostatic field is produced by friction of ther powder at the spray nozzle. The gas discharge lamp may be a glow lamp (4). ADVANTAGE - Monitors sufficiency of electrostatic field automatically. Failure of field activates alarm to prevent faulty coating and/or waste.
