The magnet (1) which forms the brake-shoe, is supported at each end by tension springs (2) which are attached to the magnet by means of brackets (4, 4'). The magnet is guided in the vertical plane by means of a guide plate (7) attached to the vehicle structure (120) and mounted to the side of the magnet. One of the bolts which fastens the bracket (4) to the magnet extends horizontally beyond the magnet and has an attachment which fits around the guide plate (7) and thus guides the magnet.
