Microbicide contains a phosphate of formula Ma1AbMc2(PO4)d.nH2O (I) (where M1 = at least one of Ag, Cu, Zn, Sn, Hg, Pb, Fe, Co, Ni, Mn, As, Sb, Bi, Ba, Cd or Cr; M2 = at least one tetravalent metal; A = at least one of the following ions hydrogen, alkali metal, alkaline earth metal or ammonium ion; n = 0-6; a and b = each a positive number such that la+mb = 1 or la+mb = 2 and if a and b correspond to la:mb = 1, c = 2 and d = 3, and if la+mb = 2, c = 1 and d = 2; l = the valency of M1; m is the valency of A). USE/ADVANTAGE - The microbicide has antifungal, antialgal and antibacterial activity, as a result of the antimicrobe metal ions such as Ag. The microbicide can be used, e.g. on fibres for work clothing, doctors gowns, medical bed linen, sports clothing, hospital laundry and clothing, fish nets, curtains, floor coverings and carpets, underwear and air filters, on papers, e.g. wall paper, on films and foils for foodstuffs and medicines, on synthetic leather, on dyes or powders such as nutrients and agricultural nutrients and on liq. formulations, e.g. shampo
