Summary:An electronic unit (1) controls the illumination of a bank of fluorescent tubes (14) by sending pulse signals to the main load current switch (2), the starters (4) and switches determining series or parallel connection (3). For each voltage cycle, the electronic unit sends pulses first to close the main switch, then to the series/parallel switch, then to the starters, and finally to the main switch to open it again at the zero-crossing of the voltage waveform. USE/ADVANTAGE - Controlling illumination of fluorescent lamps by adjustable switching within a cycle; definitive control avoids misfiring, promotes tube life and saves energy.
