Summary: | A gas and liq.-tight cable bushing passes through an injection moulded polyamide wall of a casing for a water-tight sensor mounted inside; the assembly has a flexible plastic sheathing which takes four-wire conductor leads; these are bared inside the wall and where they emerge; the assembly also has a thermoplastic layer insulating the lead and producing a bond to the wall of the casing. The insulated conductors are tinned and coated with a polyamide hot melt adhesive, the melting pt. of which is lower than that of the material of the casing wall. The example shown is for a car brake system sensor contained inside the sealed casing (1), whose wall (3) has a polyamide cover. The cable with plastic sheath (6) and insulation (7) of polyurethane passes into this wall (3) and carries three conductors (8) and their insulations (9) but the insulation (7) and sheath (6), are ended at the wall. Further along the sleeve (9) is left off and the conductors (8) are bared and hence separated; here they are tinned and the capillaries in their braiding are filled with solder. The bared lengths of the conductors (8) are coated with hot melt adhesive (13) of e.g. polyamide with the lower melting pt. than the wall (3). ADVANTAGE - The prod. has a simple structure. It is free from longitudinal capillaries and is compact. |
