Summary: | The aid filter to be opened is placed on the platform formed by four rotating disks (13, 14, 26, 27) and is engaged around its base by knurled extensions of the disks. Two of the disks (26, 27) are spring loaded and carried on a slide (22) which can be positioned by a handwheel (23) to suit the size of filter. Attached to the front of the slide is a cutting wheel (34) which can be pressed against the filter to remove the baseplate and allow the filter to be taken apart. The shaft of one of the disks (13, 14) is geared to a spindle which can be driven by a portable drill. ADVANTAGE - Simple low-cost design suitable for handling small quantities. Automatically adaptable to different sizes of filter. Can be used on filters with damaged bodies. |
