Summary: | The appts. to apply a coating to a web, passing round a counter roller, has a doctor blade (6) and a setting motor (13) which powers a shaft (15) running across the blade (6) width. Each adjustment element can be coupled separately for an adjustment movement in a section of the blade (6). The adjusting elements act on a flexible support bar (7), lying at the blade (6) below the blade point. A setting spindle, connected to a drive shaft (11) is used as the adjustment element, and each drive shaft (11) is connected to the drive shaft (15) by a switched clutch coupling (12). The drive shaft (15) is a screw, and a worm wheel (16) for each adjustment element meshes with the drive screw, and is fixed to the clutch (12) at the drive take-off side. A counter at the adjustment unit records the number of adjustment movements with coupled adjustment elements. A computer gives the position of each adjustment unit from the number of movements. ADVANTAGE - The pressure applied by the doctor blade can be adjusted locally, and automatically, while the appts. is in operation. |
