Summary: | The two sun wheels (2, 3) are fixed to respective output shafts (1, 4). The support (5) for the planet wheels (6) can be mounted on the casing (8) with a free-wheel clutch (7). Release or engagement of the main clutch (9) coupling the support (5) to the first output shaft (1) is controlled by an electronic unit (10). When the clutch (9) is disengaged on operation of the accelerator pedal, the gear is moved automatically into its higher ratio. ADVANTAGE - Frequent changes between two gear ratios can be automated with rapid-action clutch under electronic control, reducing driver's workload. |
