Summary:The cervical collar consists of a dimensionally stable support element (1) made of elastic foamed material and provided with a covering of textile material. Its free ends overlap (1a, 1b) at the rear in the nape-support area and can be connected releasably to one another. The support element (1) is provided with radial breaks (3) into which it is possible to fit support elements (5) having a shaft (6), which on the one hand ends in a head (7) of large surface area and on the other hand is designed with a mushroom-like thickened end (8). This end (8) can be pressed alternately into a plate or a strip (10) partially surrounding the outer surface of the support element (1) and makes it possible to adapt the support function, in accordance with the requirements of the particular indication, by inserting or removing individual support elements (5) or all the support elements (5).
