Summary:A device for processing mixed data with character code blocks of character code data and image blocks of image data is specified. This device contains a memory for storing the mixed data, an acquisition circuit for acquiring the number of blocks stored in the memory, an assembly device for assembling the blocks forming the mixed data and a control device which causes the blocks to be combined by the assembly device when it is determined by the acquisition circuit from the result of the acquisition that the number of blocks exceeds the number of blocks which can be processed at a maximum. When the number of blocks exceeds this maximum number, the character code block is converted into an image block by means of a conversion circuit. These mixed data are sent to a distant transmission station by means of a transmission device.
