Summary:The invention relates to an armchair with a seat, a backrest and a supporting column. The invention is characterised by the following features: (a) A supporting arm is fixed in the upper region of the supporting column and extends towards the front upper side of the armchair; (b) a seat plate is articulated on the front end of the supporting arm by its front edge; (c) a concavely shaped connecting part is articulated on both sides on the rear edge of the seat plate by its front edge; (d) at the articulated regions of the seat plate and the connecting part there are provided springs which stress the connecting part in the upward direction; (e) the backrest is articulatedly fixed to the rear edge of the connecting part on both sides of its lower edge; (f) at the articulated regions of the connecting part and at the pivotably mounted regions there are provided springs which stress the backrest towards the front side of the armchair.
